RECOVER crutch
Rehabilitative Aid for Temporary Crutch Users.
Crutch design has remained largely the same in function and aesthetic for hundreds of years, despite significant advancement in surrounding medical technology. Crutches are used to assist thousands of people every year, yet are subject to a wide range of criticisms regarding their usability, functionality and comfort. Physical issues such as pain, discomfort, a lack of stability and support, and damage to the musculoskeletal system as a result of crutch use, are furthered by the psychological issues which arise from having to use these uncomfortable, medical devices which attract attention to a perceived weakness. The combination of these physical and psychological impacts of crutch use can have a substantial effect on the user’s recovery process and impact on their ability to go about their everyday lives.

The RECOVER crutch offers a cleaner and more approachable aesthetic than traditional crutch designs which appear very sterile and cold. This aspect links strongly to the psychological angle of the recovery process, as it is a design which the user will not be embarrased to have with them.

The Recover crutch is able to switch between a forearm crutch and walking stick formation, allowing the product recover with the user.

The design of the crutch base offers the user greater stability, traction and support, allowing them to comfortly go about their day without worrying about losing their balance or collapsing under their weight.
